In February 2013, TAM will be welcoming three new AmeriCorps VISTAs to continue the efforts to restructure and support existing programs and improve the tools created by past VISTAs to ensure TAM’s sustainability and future. They will be focusing on the areas of fund and resource development, programs & evaluation, and volunteer recruitment/management. TAM is grateful for these three individuals commitment to eliminating poverty through education and serving with AmeriCorps.
*This post is part of a series spotlighting the newest additions to the TAM team.
Justin Tucker – Volunteer Recruitment AmeriCorps *VISTA
Hometown: I’m from Port St. Lucie, Florida
Education: I hung out at a Indian River State College for a few years
Five fun facts:
1) I’m terrible at answering list-based questions about myself.
2)I’ve lived in 7 cities in 6 states in the past few years
3) I once broke a world record, but it has since been beaten.
4) I don’t think I’ve ever eaten a pear.
5) I think I’m double jointed.
Why did you decide to join AmeriCorps VISTA?
I was so excited to be a part of VISTA because it was a stellar way to serve my community full time!

“There are two things that I want you to make up your minds to: first, that you are going to have a good time as long as you live – I have no use for the sour-faced man – and next, that you are going to do something worthwhile, that you are going to work hard and do the things you set out to do.” Teddy Roosevelt
