Festival organizer forced to postpone remainder of
Cailifornia Jamaican Jerk Festival & Concert yesterday
at Compton / Woodley Airport.
Concert venue / re-schedule date to be announced.

For Immediate Release: July 17, 2005 (Compton, CA) – First Annual California Jamaican Jerk Festival & Reggae Concert organizer, M.B.I.G. Music, was yesterday forced to postpone the remainder of the day’s festivities and concert at Tomorrow’s Aeronautical Museum at Compton/Woodley Airport in Compton, California due to numerous complications and last minute restrictions that were out of the control of the organizer.

Festival organizer, M.B.I.G. MUSIC, was told by Compton Airport management company, American Airports Inc., Friday evening, July 15th that the festival which was approved previously by all city, county and airport representatives was not approved due at the end of the business day. They said was a part of the needed paperwork not being turned in on time. The paperwork was presented to the airport manager within one hour to the airport management, and Compton Mayor, Eric J. Perrodin, and Compton city council members, who had been supportive every step of the festival planning assisted in re-securing the approval later that Friday night with additional restrictions added last minute. The doors to the festival opened on schedule yesterday afternoon, and the festival/concert attendees were informed of the postponement on the concert in the late afternoon and tickets were refunded at the point of purchase. M.B.I.G. Music, the festival organizer, did not want to have the attendees endure further delays due to the complications and restrictions put on the event. Advance ticket purchasers may receive a refund at their point of purchase (Ticketmaster locations and the 16 independent ticket outlets throughout Southern California).

M.B.I.G. Music and the featured artists scheduled to perform are deeply sorry for the disappointment caused to the festival ticket holders, and have agreed to re-schedule the concert at a venue / date to be announced with the help Mayor Perrodin of Compton and the Compton city council members.

The First Annual California Jamaican Jerk Festival & Reggae Concert was to feature the Los Angeles area stop of the “Love Has No Boundaries US Tour” of the “King and Queen of Lover’s Rock” and Grammy-nominees Beres Hammond and Marcia Griffiths, Kymani Marley (son of Bob Marley and Grammy-nominee), Spragga Benz, and the best in Jamaican style Jerk BBQ with vendors and restaurants competing for a first place trophy and cash prize. The family friendly event was to also benefit the award-winning community youth aviation education program at the Tomorrow’s Aeronautical Museum headed by chief pilot/founder Robin Petgrave at Compton/Woodley Airport. Festival organizer, M.B.I.G. Music, an international music entertainment company, also produces the successful annual Reggae Explosion concerts in So. California
