Commercial Pilot License

 

Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be able to read, speak, write and understand the English language.
  • Hold a second class medical certificate.
  • Hold a private pilot certificate.
  • Pass the written exam.
  • Pass the oral and practical test.

 

Hours Needed:  250 Total Flight Time

  • 100 hours must be in powered aircraft, of which 50 hours must be in airplane
  • 100 hours of pilot-in- command flight time which includes at least:
    • 50 hours in airplane
    • 50 hours in cross-country with at least 10 hours in airplane
    • 20 hours flight training (dual) including:
      • 10 hours instrument training
      • 2 hours day cross-country of more than 100 nm
      • 2 hours night cross-country of more than 100 nm
      • 3 hours within 60 days before checkride
    • 10 hours solo including :
      • 5 hours of night flight of more than 100 nm
      • 2 hours night cross-country of more than 100 nm
      • 3 hours within 60 days before checkride
      • 5 hours cross-country (over 150 nm total distance with landings at a minimum of three points, and one segment of the flight must be at least 250 nm).
